A Binghamton man was arrested in Madison County on Saturday after intentionally causing another car to spin out on the Thruway and slashing the car’s passenger with a knife, according to State Police.
Tyron Hooks-Harris, 33, was traveling west-bound on the Thruway when police say they attempted to pull him over due to an alert that called to watch for the type of car he was driving.
However, when police tried to pull him over, Hooks-Harris sped off.
Police say that Harris-Hooks swerved into the right lane and intentionally hit another car that caused both vehicles to spin out and go off road.
Hooks-Harris then got out of his car and went over to the passenger-side of the vehicle he hit and began slashing the passenger with a knife, according to officers.
Police took Hooks-Harris into custody at gunpoint, while the occupants of the car he hit were taken to Oneida Healthcare where they were treated and released.
