Ithaca man accused of stabbing victim near Buttermilk Falls State Park

Police say an Ithaca man was arrested Sunday for stabbing a man in the face earlier in the day.

Ithaca Police were called to Spencer Road just before noon, near Buttermilk Falls State Park. Officers say an argument between 35-year-old Tarrant Sheppard and another person turned physical.

Officers say they found the victim bleeding from the face. The victim was able to provide suspect information, and officers arrested Sheppard shortly after.

The victim was brought to the hospital and is expected to recover from injuries.

Sheppard has been charged with assault.
