A seared portion of the Lincoln Street parking garage in Auburn has been turned back over to the city after a number of insurance companies wrapped up an on-site fire investigation, city officials said.
A May utility vehicle fire in the parking garage’s maintenance area had damaged the surrounding area and some city equipment, resulting in a partial garage closure over the past several weeks. A few parking spots above where the fire took place had been blocked off as well.
Although the cause of the fire has yet to be determined, Auburn City Manager Jeff Dygert said Monday that the on-site part of the investigation was completed by multiple insurance companies.
