After a deadly crash ATV crash last week in Lewis County, some local children are hoping to help out the family of one of the victims.
Tammy Shears of Savannah was killed in last Friday’s ATV crash. Her daughter, Bailey Dougherty of Sodus Point, suffered severe leg injuries.
Children in Sodus set up a lemonade this week stand to help raise money for Dougherty’s family.
“We did it for Bailey because she got in a bad accident,” said Evan Laird.
“It makes me happy knowing we help somebody with their recovery and make them happy,” said Lia Buchwald.
The tragedy has united the community behind the family.
