DirecTV customers lose another local channel

DirecTV customers have lost another local channel.

CBS affiliate WROC-TV (Channel 8), owned by Nexstar Media Group, went dark at midnight on July 4, along with more than 120 other Nexstar stations nationwide.

Nexstar and AT&T, owner of pay-TV provider DirecTV, have been unable to reach a new contract agreement and in competing statements blame each other for the standoff and resulting blackout affecting customers.

“Nexstar Media Group offered to extend our current deal, but DIRECTV and AT&T refused to continue negotiating,” Channel 8’s website reads.

A statement by AT&T states: “Nexstar has removed its channels from your lineup even though we offered Nexstar more money to keep them available to you.”
