Maureen Carroll spent Friday perusing the produce selections at Cobble Creek Farm in Spencerport.
“Strawberries, raspberries, those kinds of things,” she said.
She was looking for items for a cookout.
But she said she’s noticed some changes when she goes shopping. Fruits and vegetables are taking longer to get on shelves, and when they do show up, pickings are slim.
“Everything is just a touch behind where it should be this time of year,” according to Dave Belhurst, owner of Cobble Creek Farm. He said the cold and wet spring pushed back the timetable for growing crops.
“Overall, it was tough getting everything in. Anything we did get put in was later than usual.,” he said.
The spring had a direct impact on the farm. Corn is one of the crops most affected.
