Syracuse lacrosse’s famed No. 22 is apparently back in play again.
According to Inside Lacrosse, midfielder Chase Scanlan is transferring from Loyola to Syracuse and will wear that program’s historic number. No. 22, worn by the likes of Gary Gait, Charlie Lockwood and all three Powell brothers, had been shelved since Jordan Evans graduated in 2017.
Scanlan posted 58 points as a freshman midfielder for the Greyhounds in 2019, earning second-team All-America honors. He scored twice in the Greyhounds’ 15-13 win over SU in the NCAA Tournament.

Huge get for @CuseMLAX. Scanlan, who was committed to Syracuse for a year as a recruit, will likely play attack for the Orange, he says. Insane nucleus of young offensive talent up there in the Dome.
