A 36-year-old woman was rescued and airlifted to a Syracuse-area hospital after an incident on Independence Day in Union Springs.
According to first responders, the woman fell into a running boat propeller at Hibiscus Harbor. She became entangled in the propeller and suffered a variety of injuries as result.
A paramedic with TLC Emergency Medical Services happened to be nearby, and assisted AMR ambulance crews, who responded to the scene. They started medical treatment quickly, and a LifeNet helicopter transported the woman to the Syracuse hospital.
The woman was reportedly conscious and alert throughout the rescue. Around an hour after the initial call – LifeNet transported her from the scene.
