The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office announced Monday that it will be cracking down on railroad trespassers.
The sheriff's office is turning more attention to the railroads after a "significant increase" in complaints for trespassing along them, according to a Facebook post from the department.
People who trespass on railroads like the one over Cayuga Lake to swim or fish are "putting themselves in serious danger" because of the trains' speed and how little room they have to come through, according to the post.
