A Canandaigua man was arrested on a third-degree arson charge after an incident on Wednesday, according to police.
Richard Brahm, 56, of Canandaigua was arrested around 10:55 p.m. as police investigated a disturbance at a residence on Pleasant Street.
It’s alleged that while police were on-scene investigating, Brahm, who was not involved in the incident, approached officer and was asked to leave.
After leaving the area, Brahm returned a few minutes later with a ‘Molotov Cocktail’, lit the device, and threw it under the gas tank of a Canandaigua PD cruiser.
Brahm was immediately taken into custody, the car was moved, and the device was extinguished before any damage or injuries occurred.
Police say he was taken to the Ontario County Jail pending arraignment.
