There’s a new form of security coming to the Greater Rochester International Airport.
Facial recognition technology is part of the nearly $80 million in upgrades completed last fall.
The high-tech new measure will feature the latest software from IK Systems, Inc. in Victor to identify travelers on specific lists from the FBI.
“When somebody’s coming through the airport terminal,” the software will use “a small identified database through the Joint Terrorism Task Force and other federal agencies on the terrorism watchlist,” according to Andrew Moore, director of the Greater Rochester International Airport.
