Two embattled members of the Wayne Central School Board will not be removed from the board.
Steven Gallaher and Dennis Landry were accused of overstepping their positions by launching their own investigation and gaining access to Freewill Elementary School. The pair were each facing five charges of official misconduct.
Landry and Gallaher say the school had been left unsecured, and the doors unlocked. They argue they did nothing wrong.
Each were found not guilty of misconduct on three charges – however, the board ruled they were guilty of misconduct related to two charges each.
Gallaher was found guilty of official misconduct related to an unauthorized independent inquiry and inappropriate social media posts. Landry was found guilty of making false statements and failing to disclose the truth.
