A record-breaking 49-Million Americans are expected to travel this Independence Day.
According to AAA, that is nearly 2 million more travelers than last year.
41 million people plan to travel by car, while just less than 4 million by plane.
INRIX, a global mobility analytics company, predicts drivers could face delays as much as four times a normal commute, with Wednesday, July 3 being the worst day on the roads.
In New York State, 3.5 million people will be traveling for the holiday.
While travelers are paying more for car rentals and airfare, AAA says Lower gas prices and a better economy are credited with the increased travel forecast.
