Skaneateles showcasing six unique gardens

The Skaneateles Garden Club is offering a look at the surroundings of some of the oldest and nicest homes in its Art, Music and Gardens Tour. It’s Friday and Saturday (June 29 & 30), 10am – 4pm and the tour starts at the Presbyterian Church on East Genesee Street. $25 tickets include a map and a bit of history and insight into each garden design.

Below is a preview from Linda Merrill Arthur, with the Skaneateles Garden Club:

>First stop, a 1926 house with a 3-acre garden that runs down to the Skaneateles Lake edge, and includes 5 garden ‘rooms.

>Second, the oldest house in the village, 1805 vintage. Its garden has a stream running through it.

>By contrast, the third stop’s garden is only 3 and a half years old, and presents a woodside landscape.
