A proposed amendment to Auburn’s zoning code could be the beginning of a large-scale solar project at the city’s landfill site. The city council will vote on the amendment Thursday.
Along with adding solar definitions to the city code, the amendment would allow a large-scale solar energy system to be permitted under special use in the resource recovery zoning district — home to Auburn’s landfill — located in the northwest corner of the city.
