Milo is a golden retriever, so retrieving things is in his DNA.
But there was a moment during his June 1 debut as the Rochester Red Wings’ bat dog — or, more precisely, bat-fetching dog — that made his owner, Josh Snyder, a little nervous.
The first time Snyder directed Milo to run from the dugout onto Frontier Field and fetch a bat beside home plate, the 4-year-old “looked up at the crowd,” Snyder said, “and he was like, ‘Holy cow!’”
