One of the best White Sox at-bats of the 2019 season produced what quite possibly could be their biggest win to date during a 5-4 victory over the Yankees on Thursday night at Guaranteed Rate Field in the opener of a four-game set.
Leury Garcia did the honors, starting the heroics by falling behind, 0-2, to reliever Adam Ottavino leading off the seventh. Garcia worked the count full, and on the 11th pitch, launched his fourth home run to right-center to break a 4-4 deadlock.
That blast moved the White Sox back within one win of .500, at 33-34, and completed their comeback from a 4-0 deficit.
