Robinson Cano is striding his way back to the New York Mets in progressive steps of two innings at a time.
It’s not his choice. He claims he’s ready for a full plate of action. But that’s not the plan for his rehab assignment with the Syracuse Mets. So he made his debut with a five-inning stretch on Tuesday, was scheduled to play seven against the Charlotte Knights Wednesday night and then will hit the nine-inning mark at some point soon.
