In a unanimous vote, the state Senate passed a bill that would require the commissioner of health to create at least four infant recovery centers.
The centers would be placed in areas of need for infants suffering from drug withdrawal due to the mother’s use.
The bill states that infants would get better, more cost-efficient help through the weeks-long process.
The bill now heads to the Assembly.
