New York Senate and Assembly leaders said they reached a deal Tuesday afternoon to pass a sweeping package of rent reforms that will offer the strongest tenant protections in state history.
“We are finalizing this legislation and we will be issuing a joint statement with additional details when it is complete,” Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins said in a statement.
The agreement is expected to take nine separate bills and combine them into a single rent reform package that could be voted on as early as Friday.
