The two consulting firms hired to study the odor problem at the Ontario County Landfill will make their final reports Monday to the Board of Supervisors Planning and Environmental Quality Committee.
Casella Waste Services, operator of the 389-acre landfill, has hired a consultant to examine the sources of the odor, what Casella has been doing to mitigate the odor and make recommendations on additional steps to take.
The county has also hired a consultant to analyze what the Casella consultant has done as well as make its own recommendations.
Casella representatives will also provide a general update on landfill operations. The committee will also have access to the landfill status report and the state Department of Environmental Conservation landfill inspection reports.
