Geneva High School students were held in place temporarily on Thursday as officials and law enforcement investigated a ‘threatening note’ that was found on a desk.
Details of the incident were not outlined, but school officials did release the following message to parents, faculty, and community members.
“A hold-in-place at Geneva High School has been lifted. The middle and high school were put in a hold-in-place at about 1:40pm this afternoon because of a threatening note found on a student desk at the high school. Area police responded with K-9s and conducted a thorough search of the building. The middle school was released at their normal dismissal time. The high school hold in place was lifted at 4 p.m.
North Street School students who are normally walked home by a high school student were held at their school until the high school students were released.
Bags will be searched in the morning.”
