Police say a Seneca Falls man was arrested after a violent incident at a local residence.
On Friday at approximately 7:51 a.m. police arrested Cassidy J. Ward, 35, of Seneca Falls following a disturbance.
Police were called after Ward illegally entered a home of an associate – creating a disturbance at the residence. During that incident, he knocked a female victim down – and climbed on top of her using his body weight to prevent escape.
He then applied pressure to her face and neck with sufficient force to impede her breathing. He also punched the victim int he face.
Police say Ward then took the victim’s phone, coerced her into unlocking it. He attempted to flee the scene, but was taken into custody when an arrest warrant was issued and search took place.
Ward was charged with third-degree robbery, a felony; coercion, menacing, criminal trespass, unlawful imprisonment, criminal obstruction of breathing, and harassment.
Ward was also on parole at the time, according to police.
The charges will be answered in Seneca Falls Town Court.
