Sheriff Tim Luce reports the arrest of a 22-year-old Newark resident following an investigation into an incident at the Law Enforcement Center.
Steven Wilcox, 22, of Newark was arrested on a warrant for felony criminal possession of a forged instrument after allegedly presenting a fake $100 bill in lieu of real currency for bail.
Deputies say that the fake $100 bill was presented with a real $100 bill. When processing his bail money it was determined that the second bill was a fake.
After the incident on May 29th and 30th – Wilcox was taken into custody on June 5th.
Wilcox was held on $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond pending further court action.
