To think, a little more than a week ago, Victor was less than a minute away from seeing its dominance in Section V boys lacrosse interrupted for the first time since 2013.
Now, thanks to a surprisingly easy 12-6 Class B state semifinal victory over Vestal Wednesday night on a miserably rainy night at St. John Fisher College, the dynastic Blue Devils are headed to a state championship game for the fifth consecutive year.
“Good teams come and go,” said Victor coach Jim Andre. “Every sport, every season, there’s always going to be a good team. We knew this year, for us to bring it to the next level, we’d have to put the pieces together. I’m so excited for these 2019 kids.”
