A Cortland woman remains hospitalized after police say she was drugged, raped and held captive days at a house on Brown Avenue.
Cortland police were called to a house on Monday to check on the woman after someone reported she may be in danger.
"The report that we received was that he was holding two women against his will in his basement and injecting them against their will with narcotics and controlled substances," said Detective Lt. Michael Strangeway of the Cortland Police Department.
Officials say when police responded, they were confronted by Raymond C. Cole Jr. who refused to let them come inside the house. They say as officers were talking with Cole, 58, in front of the house they saw the woman came out the back door.
