A Yates County grand jury has indicted a former town of Barrington code enforcement officer on felony charges related to paperwork he allegedly issued for a taproom at The Olney Place, the district attorney announced Wednesday.
John Griffin was indicted on charges of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree and issuing a false certificate. The indictment also contains one misdemeanor count of criminal impersonation.
“The investigation was conducted by the New York State Police in conjunction with the district attorney’s office of conduct that is alleged to have occurred in 2014 and 2016,” a news release from District Attorney Todd Casella read.
Griffin is scheduled to be arraigned on June 18 in Yates County Court.
