Seneca County apparently will not prepare a 10-year solid waste management plan.
The Board of Supervisors Agriculture & Environmental Affairs Committee met Tuesday to discuss the possibility of either hiring a consultant to come up with a plan or having it done in house by county staff.
Committee member Cindy Lorenzetti, D-Fayette, made a motion to seek Request For Proposals to prepare a plan. But her motion did not receive a second.
Lorenzetti chastised the committee for not moving ahead with a plan to handle solid waste over the next 10 years, citing issues with Seneca Meadows Landfill scheduled to close in 2025 and the anxiety caused by the waste to energy trash incinerator proposal in Romulus.
