IEC breaking ground on new facility in Newark

IEC Electronics is hosting a June 6 groundbreaking for its new manufacturing facility at Silver Hill Technology Park.

“As we expand and grow our business, we are excited to design, from the ground up, a state-of-the-art, 150,000-square-foot advanced technology facility to support the life-saving and mission critical products we manufacture,” the company stated in a news release. “As a leading electronic manufacturing service provider, we have been headquartered in Newark for almost 50 years and look forward to continuing to grow our business in Wayne County.”

The $22 million facility is expected to create up to 362 jobs and help IEC retain the current 463 positions in Newark.
