Geneva lacrosse coaches placed on administrative leave

The Geneva Varsity Lacrosse team competed on Friday without two key components of their head coaching staff.

Long-time head coach L.J. Russell and Assistant Head Coach Brian Travis were placed on administrative leave this week, pending an internal investigation.

Heather Swanson confirmed that information via email on behalf of the district.

It’s unclear what led to the investigation. The varsity lacrosse team defeated HFL 17-4 on Friday despite the absence of the two coaches.
