Former Manchester Judge sentenced to jail, will have to pay back $6K in restitution

After pleading guilty to stealing upwards of $8,000 earlier this month in Ontario County Court – she was sentenced on Friday to six-months in jail.

Erika Martin, who served as Manchester Judge before resigning, pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud.

As an elected judge, Martin ordered people to pay for traffic and other infractions. However, after being elected she began pocketing fines for a total of $9,000.

In addition to serving the sentence, Martin was ordered to pay back more than $6,800 in restitution. She will also be prohibited from serving as a judge.
