A Mentz resident was arrested on felony charges following an investigation involving deputies and CPS investigators.
The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Timothy K. Hoisington, 27, of Mentz when he was found to be operating a marijuana growth operation.
Members of the Sheriff’s Office – who were working with Cayuga County Child Protective Services responded to the residence on Thompson Road in Mentz to conduct a joint investigation.
They found more than 100 growing marijuana plants inside the residence. He was also found to be in possession of several unregistered, undocumented firearms.
Hoisington was charged with one count of felony criminal possession of marijuana; and one count of felony criminal possession of a weapon.
He was arraigned and held on $500 cash bail.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
