A legislative proposal in New York would require new teachers to complete training on how to use an EpiPen if a student suffers a severe allergic attack.
The bill, pending in the Democrat-led state Legislature, is intended to use free, quick training sessions to ensure teachers can administer auto injectors in the event of an emergency. It's one of three allergy-related proposals this year.
A second would require restaurants to post more information about items with potential allergens, while a third would require restaurants to train staff on ways to prevent allergens from accidentally getting into the wrong dish.
