Former Waterloo CSD teacher charged with sexual misconduct

State Police have arrested a former Waterloo gym teacher on sexual misconduct and child endangerment charges following an investigation.

On Tuesday, Lindsey Halstead was arrested by state police. She was charged with two counts of sexual misconduct and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Halstead is accused of having sexual contact with a 16-year-old subject in the town of Seneca Falls.



State police say Halstead was previously employed by the Waterloo School District from September of 2014 through February 2018. She then worked for the Midlakes School District as a long-term substitute teacher from February of 2018 through April of 2018 when she was terminated.

Halstead is in the Seneca County Jail awaiting arraignment. Additional charges are pending.
