Daniel Rickman has been appointed as the Deputy District Director for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Syracuse District Office.
Rickman joined SBA and the Syracuse District in 2013 as an Economic Development Specialist and most recently served as Branch Manager, supervising the Albany and Elmira offices in the district. As Deputy District Director, Rickman’s duties will include supervising district staff and assisting the District Director in overseeing the delivery of SBA programs and services in the 34 counties of Upstate NY served by the district. Rickman will continue to work with community leaders, lenders, and small business stakeholders to optimize the positive impacts and contributions that SBA’s programs make to the growth of small businesses and the economy in Upstate.
Prior to joining SBA, Rickman worked for a large national bank in West Texas working with small and middle-market businesses before launching his own small business focused on providing comprehensive, multi-state payroll processing services to small business clients. Rickman also volunteered as a mentor and trainer with the Lubbock, Texas SCORE chapter.
A Rochester-area native, Rickman enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2000 and served in combat operations during the Iraq War. He now resides in Cayuga County and when not assisting small businesses enjoys camping and other outdoor activities.
