The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that first responders were called to a tractor-fire in a field off Sand Hill and North roads on Thursday.
Around 11:18 a.m. deputies along with the Canandaigua, Shortsville, Manchester, and Farmington fire departments responded to a tractor fire.
Deputies say Mark Elliot, of Canandaigua was operating the tractor when he noticed a plume of smoke come from the right-front portion of the tractor.
He then observed flames coming from under the hood, and exited the tractor. The tractor was a complete loss, according to deputies, but was insured.
No injuries were reported.
