The Romulus Planning Board has begun updating the town’s comprehensive plan, which was written and adopted in 2001.
As part of the process, a survey has been prepared to help the Planning Board sub-committee working on the new comprehensive plan to address future needs of the town.
“The main driver for this is the last one goes back to 2001. A lot has changed in the town since then and we need a current plan to reflect current conditions,” said Planning Board member Tom Bouchard.
The survey is available on the town website at romulustown.com. Copies also are available at the municipal building, 1435 Prospect St., Willard.
“The incinerator project is also a driver, to an extent, but it’s mostly that the current plan is out of date,” Bouchard said. “Once we have a comprehensive plan in the works, we can incorporate zoning and other changes to help implement the plan. We want to keep this in-house for now, but at some point, we’ll need to hire a consultant.”
