Sewer rates could be hiked in Waterloo soon

The village’s water and sewer budgets are supposed to be self-sufficient, with revenues offsetting expenses without help from the general fund.

The Village Board has decided not to increase water rates for the new fiscal year beginning June 1. The rate will remain $5.25 per 1,000 gallons used.

But the board is proposing to raise sewer rates.

A public hearing will be conducted at 7 p.m. May 13 at the start of the next Village Board meeting.
