Given new life, the Mets did not waste it. After squandering multiple leads on Tuesday evening, the Mets walked off winners when Pete Alonso hit a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning to give them a 4-3 victory over the Reds.
The rally began when J.D. Davis hit a leadoff double against Reds closer Raisel Iglesias, who had thrown multiple innings the previous night. Jeff McNeil singled to put runners on the corners with no outs, and Alonso followed with a sacrifice fly to deep right to end things.
