Troopers report the arrest of a 15-year-old in Cayuga County on felony charges following an investigation.
The unnamed teen was charged with first-degree rape, which is a Class B felony. The teen is accused of having sexual contact with a 10-year-old girl.
The incident, which prompted the state police investigation allegedly took place on April 13th. The incident was reported by a family member of the suspect, according to police.
Police say the victim was interviewed at the Childhood Advocacy Center of Cayuga County in Auburn. The incident is believed to have been a one-time occurrence.
The suspect will return to Cayuga County Family Court due to age.
