Deputies: Charges pending after three hospitalized following serious Wayne County crash

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is providing new details around the crash that happened over the weekend in Wayne County along State Route 441 at the intersection of West Walworth Road.

Deputies say that around 11:08 p.m. in the Town of Walworth Luis Aponte, 30, was traveling west on Route 441 and was approaching the West Walworth Road intersection when he passed another westbound vehicle in a no passing zone.

At that time, Philip Colocillo, 34, and his wife, Andrea Colocillo, 41, both of Walworth were traveling eastbound on Route 441 and collided with Aponte’s vehicle head-on.

Both were severely damaged. All three occupants had to be extricated from the vehicles. All of them were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Deputies say that investigation into the collision is ongoing and charges are pending.

Assisting at the scene was the West Walworth Fire Department, Walworth Fire Department, Walworth EMS, Macedon Town EMS, Finger Lakes Ambulance, and Penfield Ambulance with Periton ALS.
