With the incoming rain this weekend and water levels creeping up, some communities along the lake have started to sandbag.
In Fair Haven, that process hasn’t begun, but they are ready.
The International Joint Commission, the group in charge of regulating Lake Ontario's levels, says right now, the water is a little more than a foot above average for this time of year.
What makes this situation even more nerve-racking is that the lake level will most likely rise even more.
The Fair Haven Mayor James Basile says that this could potentially be another 2017 flooding situation.
