29-year-old charged with attempted rape in Ontario County

Sheriff Kevin Henderson reports the arrest of a 29-year-old Ontario resident following a joint investigation involving the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and Canandaigua Police Department.

Through the use of an undercover police officer – investigators arrested Nicholas P. Heberle, 29, of Ontario.

Henderson says that over several days Heberle communicated with an individual who was identified as a 14-year-old female from Canandaigua.

While messaging what he believed to be a 14-year-old female, Heberle stated that he wanted to have sexual intercourse with them – and described various sex acts over the messaging platform.

After he attempted to meet up with who Heberle thought was a 14-year-old girl – deputies took him into custody.

He was charged with second-degree attempted rape after being taken into custody on April 19th.
