Freedom Village is moving to South Carolina, according to Finger Lakes News Radio.
Pastor Fletcher Brothers, who calls his ministry “North America’s premier Christian home for at-risk youth” addressed the reason why the facility is moving to Charleston, South Carolina on a local daily radio program.
“Part of the reason we’re leaving is probably the same reason a lot of people are leaving,” he explained to FLNR.
Freedom Village has had a history of financial challenges – including filing for bankruptcy after the state ordered it to pay more than $1.5 million in back pay, interest and penalties.
The Post and Courier in Charleston reports Freedom Village is moving to a vacant group home in Pickens County, South Carolina, in a remote corner of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
