The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Rochester man following a domestic incident in the Town of Palmyra.
Deputies arrested Edward A. Welsh, 21, of Rochester on multiple charges after the investigation on Wednesday. He was taken into custody around 11:40 p.m., according to deputies.
Welsh was charged with criminal mischief, unlawful imprisonment, and harassment. He’s accused of locking his ex-girlfriend in a bathroom while he screamed at her. He then began to break items in the bedroom.
Deputies say that when the victim was able to escape the bathroom Welsh shoved her and elbowed her in the throat.
He was transported to the Wayne County Jail pending arraignment and will answer the charges at a later date.
