Penn Yan woman charged with aggravated DWI after traffic stop

Police say a Penn Yan woman was arrested on Saturday following a traffic stop in the village of Penn Yan.

The Penn Yan Police Department reports the arrest of Amber Denison, 24, of Palmyra – following a traffic stop that was made on State Route 14A near Hayes Auction Barn.

Police say Denison was placed through sobriety tests after officers suspected she was under the influence of alcohol.



Denison was ultimately arrested and transported to the Yates County Jail where she submitted to a breath test.

Denison was charged with driving while intoxicated, and aggravated driving while intoxicated. She was released with appearance tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
