Officials say a a woman has died following a house fire in North Rose on Friday.
The fire was reported by a neighbor on Caroline Avenue after that person heard a loud ‘popping’ sound. The neighbor then saw flames at the home.
Firefighters found a 61-year-old woman deceased inside. The woman lived at the home with her husband, who was not home at the time.
The woman was said to be using an oxygen tank, but it’s not clear if that was a contributor to the cause of the fire.
Investigators are still working to determine the actual cause of the blaze.
