Syracuse man hit, threatened to kill woman in Auburn, police say

A Syracuse man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly striking a woman and threatening her life in a domestic incident, the Auburn Police Department said.

Tyrone S. Davis Jr., 23, of 402 Ivy Ridge Road, was picked up on a warrant and charged with second-degree menacing and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing. Auburn Deputy Chief Roger Anthony said that around 7:15 p.m. Feb. 9, Davis was driving a vehicle with a 21-year-old woman with him when the two got into an argument and Davis threatened to kill her. At one point Davis stopped the vehicle on Seymour Street in Auburn and the two got out of the car.

Anthony said Davis hit the woman in the mouth with an object, though Anthony said he didn’t know what exactly Davis hit her with. Anthony said the woman was not injured, and she did not report the incident the day it happened.
