Deputies: Ovid man charged with felony DWI after being found unconscious in middle of intersection

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday at approximately 1 a.m. a 24-year-old Ovid resident was arrested on felony DWI charges following an investigation.

Deputies charged Trevon N. Kangumine, 24, of Ovid with felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, obstructing traffic at an intersection, and open container.

The arrest stems from an investigation into the report of an unconscious male driver in the middle of an intersection in Ovid.

After several failed attempts of knocking on the window to wake the driver up, the passenger window had to be smashed to wake him.

The driver was identified, and he was found to be intoxicated.

Kangumine was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
