A couple charged in connection to a double-murder in Sodus will face trial together in May.
Investigators say Charlene Childers, 25, conspired with her husband Timothy Dean, 32, to kill her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Niles, and his new girlfriend, Amber Washburn, in October 2018.
At a court appearance Wednesday, Childers’ attorney says she and Dean will be tried together next month.
A criminal complaint alleges Childers helped Dean rent a car to drive from Texas to New York to kill Niles. Dean is the former police chief of the Sunray, Texas department.
Niles and Washburn were shot to death outside their home in Sodus on Oct. 22.
Childers will be in court again Tuesday for a pre-trial appearance.
She’s been charged with conspiracy in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
